Lindsay Lohan is hot on the comeback trail.

At the Liz & Dick premiere Tuesday night, the 26-year-old actress portraying Elizabeth Taylor told E! News it "feels really good" to talk about acting rather than her probation.

Lindsay said many issues the Lifetime movie tackled—particularly the late Dame Elizabeth's struggles with the paparazzi and alcoholism—struck close to home. "People go through a lot of ups and downs in life," she said. "And I think that you can still stand strong and live through it."

As for criticism surrounding Liz & Dick already? Lindsay's not paying attention. "I haven't really heard any harsh things thus far, and I'm going to keep it that way," she said.

"I really worked hard on this. I put all of my heart and soul into it, so I hope that that shows through," she added. "I hope Elizabeth Taylor, up from above, is admiring the work I did on her behalf."

The people pulling the purse strings on Liz & Dick certainly had faith in Lindsay's ability to do justice to the late star's legacy. The film's executive producer, Larry Thompson, told E! News there was a $250,000 premium on Lindsay's insurance for the flick, and a $500,000 deductible every time they lost a day of shooting. They lost two days, so the Mean Girls star ended up costing him about $1.25 million in insurance alone.

From what we can see, though—plus the attention she's brought to Liz & Dick already—she was worth every penny.
