Jon Bon Jovi has spoken out about his 19-year-old daughter Stephanie Bongiovi's recent drug woes.

During an interview with Fox 11 in Los Angeles on Tuesday, the rock star noted that sometimes "things happen."

He added, "This tragedy was something that I had to face, too, so we'll get through it. And people's warm wishes for my family and I have been really reassuring. So, we're good."

Bongiovi was arrested last week for drug possession after she allegedly overdosed on heroin in her dorm room at Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y.

However, all charges against the college student were later dropped because of a New York law that specifically prohibits prosecution of people who experience a drug overdose.
