The show must go on—and it will, starting Tuesday, Feb. 5!

We don't know about you, but we've been going through some major Smash withdrawals since the NBC breakout hit wrapped its first season run in May. Natch, we've been salivating for a first look of Smash under its new showrunner, Gossip Girl's Josh Safran

Well, the wait is finally over as NBC debuted new footage of season two, during The Voice last night, featuring new guest stars Jennifer Hudson and Sean Hayes and introducing us to a new love interest for Katharine McPhee's Karen!

Welcome to Broadway, J-Hud! The Oscar winning Dreamgirls star is definitely the highlight of the new promo, which gives us our first look at her character Veronica Moore, a Tony Award-winning Broadway star (natch!), whose arrival will impact the lives of the show's dueling Marilyns, Karen and Ivy (Megan Hilty). (Oh, and it looks like the show will definitely be heading to Broadway, yay!)

Along with Hudson (who looks fab, by the way!), we also get a first look at Newsies star Jeremy Jordan, who will be playing Jimmy, a Brooklyn-born singer who will be getting cozy with Karen (there are a few kisses in the promo!). We wonder how director Derek (Jack Davenport) will feel about this?

Noticably missing from the new footage are Julia's (Debra Messing) husband Frank (Brian d'Arcy James) , Karen's ex Dev (Raza Jaffrey), Michael Swift (Will Chase) and the swarmy assistant Ellis (Jaime Cepero), all of whom will not be back for season two.

Smash returns Tuesday, Feb. 5, at 10 p.m. on NBC.

(E! and NBC are part of the NBCUniversal family.)
