Ottenberg, tasked with styling Ri-Ri on her 777 tour, is responsible for picking out those convo-prompting outfits before the hitmaker hits the stage. And for someone as fashionable as she is, that's no small task.
"We're going for an easygoing, stripped-down thing that's not too showy, because we're doing these small shows," Ottenberg tells E! News. "It's really just sort of inspired by her jet-set lifestyle."
However, although Mel has a huge part in styling Rihanna, it's Ri-Ri herself who has the final say in what she wears—and how she wears it.
"I bring all the clothes together, but in the end result, it's Rihanna. It's a mix of what I'm bringing but put on her in the special way she wears clothes," Ottenberg says.
While the first two nights of her weeklong tour featured outfits baring her midriff, the Stockholm show provided a sexy alternative as Rihanna stripped down to a tight-fitting white shirt—noticeably without a bra.
"I thought last night was awesome! I love how people are telling me now that they are shocked she wasn't wearing a bra. But like, who cares? Why does someone have to wear a bra?" he said, adding, "She does what she wants to do and she's hot."
Amen to that!
