"Strawberry Wine" Singer Deana Carter and Husband Separate

Country-music star files for a legal separation from Brandon Malone after less than two years of marriage, not including a year they've already spent apart

For Deana Carter, the hot July moon really did see everything.

The "Strawberry Wine" singer has filed for a legal separation from husband Brandon Malone, according to court documents obtained by E! News, and she cites Aug. 1, 2011, as the day they actually parted ways.

They swapped vows on Oct. 3, 2009, and did not have any children together. Carter is asking that her ex not be awarded spousal support.

In her petition, filed Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, she cites irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.
