Cindy Crawford, the 46-year-old model, wife, businesswoman and mother of two is the cover girl for this December's issue of Shape magazine. Which, let's face it, is a pretty extraordinary feat.

And while most of us just dig up some old photos for a "then and now" comparison, when you're Cindy Crawford, you can do a side-by-side using your own Shape magazine covers. Which brings us to our next point—it's been exactly 20 years since that other cover, and Cindy is looking even better than ever!

So, how has she been able to embody the epitome of perfection for two whole decades while most of us feel like we took a nosedive shortly after our senior prom?

One of Cindy's secrets is to always maintain balance. In her interview with the magazine, she dishes about how she fits fitness into her crazy schedule and why it's so important to squeeze in a sweat session even if it's just a short one. "I think a lot of women have it in their heads that if they can't commit to a whole hour at the gym, then it's not worth the effort. But that's not true," she says. "Ten minutes is worth it, thirty minutes is worth it. Whatever you have time for, it's better than nothing."

Along the same lines, she also emphasizes that "workouts should be energizing…not make you want to take a nap," so it's extremely important not to overdo it.

As for how she's managed to defy the odds and keep her skin looking absolutely ageless? Cindy says none of that stuff is really a secret, "Taking care of your skin is what you put in your body: drinking a lot of water…the more healthy diet you eat, I think that shows on your face. I don't smoke. Try to get sleep.  Sunscreen.  All those that things we know, it's just doing them."

Of course, for those of us who need a little extra help (or have maybe broken a few of those rules), Cindy has her own skincare company called Meaningful Beauty, which offers a full range of anti-aging products!

What do you think of Cindy's ability to defy the aging process? Are you going to try her tips?
