Lindsay Lohan is hot on the comeback trail.

The Liz & Dick star dropped by Good Morning America Friday to talk about her new movie, tumultuous personal life and, yes, the half sister she never knew she had.

"I'm in a great place," the 26-year-old actress said defiantly. "I just want to move forward."

LiLo mused that "everyone goes through things in life" but that "everything happens for a reason, good or bad."

As for playing Elizabeth Taylor? Lindsay's hoping "my love for acting shows through" in this role. The Mean Girls starlet joked that she harassed the producer for the part and definitely does relate to the late dame "in a lot of ways."

But when GMA asked Lindsay about her secret half sister, she wasn't exactly in the loop when it came to the 17-year-old girl fathered by Michael Lohan while he was still married to Dina.

"I didn't even hear that, so thanks for the news," Lindsay said, adding, "I don't pay attention to any of it. I can't. I don't really want to get into that because I want to stay on the positive side of things."

And it looks like she's doing just that. In addition to Liz & Dick, Lindsay recently wrapped the Los Angeles-set thriller The Canyons. She's already eager to get back to work.

"I'm reading scripts every day," she said. "I keep calling my agents. I'm like, 'Just keep me on set. It's safer that way."

Smart girl. Prove those haters wrong, Linds.
