Breaking Dawn Part 2 hits theaters tomorrow (tomorrow, you guys!), officially concluding The Twilight Saga and making room for another young adult-inspired supernatural love story in our hearts and in our cinemas. Could The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones be the flick that fills that void?

Now that the trailer for the movie, which stars Lily Collins and boyfriend Jamie Campbell Bower, has hit the Internet, it's time to see if it truly is "the next Twilight," as many assume it could be. So is Lily's Clary the rightful successor to Kristen Stewart's Bella Swan? Let's break it down (READER BEWARE: Spoilers may follow).

The Leading Lady: Her name is Clary Fray and she has a few things in common with Bella Swan. Like the fact that they're supposed to be totally ordinary gals despite being obviously gorgeous (so is it ever really surprising when the hot guy falls for them? Nah) and living totally ordinary lives...until each gal is pulled into a supernatural world that nobody else knows exists. More on that in a second.

The Love Interest: In The Mortal Instruments, the pseudo bad boy hunk-turned-lovesick hero is Jace Wayland. Instead of having fangs like gorgeous and glittering Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), the brooding blondie is a Shadowhunter, a demon hunter born with angel blood. When it comes to romance, it's all angst just like Twilight, but with bonus incestuous undertones added free of charge!

The Other Dude: Team Jacob (Taylor Lautner) fans, look alive! Watching this trailer, you might think the third part of the love triangle is Alec Lightwood, played by Kevin Zegers. But you would be wrong: Alec is actually gay! How very progressive! The actual third party in this flick is Simon (Robert Sheehan), Clary's often overlooked BFF who (duh) has been secretly pining for her for years.

The Storyline: Shocker: There are vampires and werewolves in The City of Bones! So it's almost exactly like Twilight then, right? Nope, because those are just two of the many supernatural creatures that live in the shadows of New York (where Instruments takes place). This movie is less so about the love story and more about kicking some supernatural ass and warlock stuff.

Plus, we don't remember any of the Twilight movies involving this:

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones hits theaters Aug. 23, 2013.
