Rihanna's 777 Tour is unlike anything that's been done before: Seven performances. Seven countries. Seven days. And 200 embedded journalists.

Hey, it's a tough job, but someone's got to do it, and E! News was along for the ride as the weeklong whirlwind kicked off in Mexico City last night.

"#777tour is about to jump start, my foot is about to touch the plane!!" Rihanna tweeted ahead of the inaugural flight yesterday. "Mexico City, are you ready?"

Spoiler alert: it was. And so was Rihanna.

As she told the assembled reporters in her welcome letter (nice touch), the whole endeavor started as a theoretical "Wouldn't it be cool if…" idea. Well, the rock ‘n' roll fantasy quickly turned into reality, and the 777 tour—celebrating her seventh album in seven years with seven concerts in seven nights via a chartered 777 Delta jumbo jet—was born.

After Mexico City, the tour will hit Toronto, Stockholm, Paris, Berlin, London and New York City.

And while Rihanna is onboard the flight (albeit in first class) with the journalists and fans, she's still mixing it up with her guests.

Shortly after departing LAX, Rihanna took two laps around the plane, first to thank everyone for coming, and secondly to pour cups of champagne and cognac for anyone who cared to join her.

Never let it be said she's not a consummate host.

The plane touched down for the inaugural tour stop in Mexico City yesterday afternoon and after a delay owing to local traffic troubles (the late arrival of Rihanna's sound equipment forced her to take the stage 90 minutes after schedule), wherein she immediately launched into a crowd-pleasing 63-minute, jams-packed set.

"Thank you, Mexico, I love u! #1 down, 6 more to go!!!" Rihanna tweeted after the show. "Country number 2, Canada! Toronto here we come #777tour #HTC."

After the show, it was immediately back to the airport and returning to board the good ship flight Rihanna, which has since touched down in Toronto for the second day of the tour.

"Yo Toronto," she tweeted. "I'll be at The Danforth tonight. Will you?"

We think that's a resounding yes. One down, six to go!
