Kristen Stewart, Louise Roe and other starlets have made us do double-takes on the red carpet lately with lacy nude-colored dresses.

Stewart's made-you-look-twice (OK, maybe more than twice!) Zuhair Murad dress at the Los Angeles Breaking Dawn Part 2 premiere left little to the imagination with its sheer lace paneling on the corset-style bodice and floor-length skirt.

Roe also raised eyebrows when she flashed some flesh in her neutral-colored Femme D'armes gown with peekaboo swaths of leg-baring sheer lace at the 2012 Glamour Women of the Year Awards.

But there have been plenty of neutral knockouts who have gone for slightly less risqué lace covered dresses. Take Lauren Conrad's adorable tea dress—complete with cute bowtie belt—which was absolutely perfect for ShoeMint's recent brunch event.

Or Bond girl Berenice Marlohe, who also stepped out during the daytime in a nude three-quarter length Elie Saab dress with lace sleeves and neckline for Javier Bardem's Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony.

Those who would rather not give the illusion of being, well, nude, should opt for a neutral dress in a shade that's slightly different to their natural skin tone.

Case in point: Ali Larter's lacy mini-dress may have been a little too sexy if its beige tone didn't pop against her tan skin.
