You cannot get more Broadway than this.

Legend/superstar Liza Minnelli will guest star on an episode of Smash in season two, NBC announced today. The Tony, Oscar, Golden Globe, Grammy and Emmy award-winner (EGOT!) will play herself and sing an original song with Tom (Christian Borle).

"Liza Minnelli is the essence of a multi-talented, singular show business sensation, particularly for her extraordinary contributions to Broadway," NBC Chairman Robert Greenblatt said in a statement. "So what could be more fitting than to have her legendary talent on a show that celebrates a world Liza has dazzled for decades? I had the pleasure of working with Liza when we restored her landmark television special ‘Liza With a Z' at Showtime, and to see her artistry up close and personal is a thing to behold."

Other guest stars appearing in season two of Smash include Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson, and Broadway vets Jesse L. Martin and Sean Hayes.

Minnelli's episode, titled "The Surprise Party" is set to air in Spring 2013. Smash returns with its second season on Thursday, Feb. 5.
