Last week was a hell of a week, with the loss of both Lori (Sarah Wayne Callies) and T-Dog (Irone Singleton) in a zombie attack engineered by a disgruntled prisoner. Now Rick (Andrew Lincoln) has to find some way to move on without his wife.
Meanwhile, in the lovely town of Woodbury, the Governor (David Morrissey) is throwing a party! Yay! Except that this party comes some very disturbing entertainment.
Zombies Eat People. Babies Do Not: They need, you know, milk. Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Daryl find a house that hasn't been looted of all its baby formula. While that happens, Glenn stays behind and bonds with the two remaining prisoners, who prove that they can be trusted by volunteering to dig graves and distract zombies. As for Rick, he comforts himself by marching into a cell block and bashing every zombie he sees. When he finally slakes his bloodlust, he finds himself in a room with a phone...that's actually ringing.
The Governor Has More Than One Secret: Like what, you may ask? Like a zombified daughter named Penny. He's hiding her in his house. He tries to brush her hair at one point. It doesn't end well. And oh: Michonne (Danai Gurira) witnesses all this from the street.
Hey Gov! Michonne Is in Your Yard, Killin' Your Zombies: Michonne discovers that—here comes another secret—the Governor is keeping captive walkers in a shed behind his house. She grabs her katana and offs a bunch of them. The Gov is not amused. He tries to sweet-talk her into seeing things his way. She pulls her sword on him instead. The run-in is the final straw for Michonne, who insists to Andrea (Laurie Holden) that Woodbury is hinky and it's time for the two of them to leave. Andrea balks, leaving Michonne to stalk out of Woodbury alone.
Woodbury Is Not a Football Town: Nor is it big booster of basketball. No, Woodbury's preferred sport is, um, arena fighting. Two men stand in the middle of a ring. They beat each other up until one or the other is pushed into a ring of zombies chained around the edge of the arena. When the fight gets boring, the chains on the zombies are lengthened, the zombies close in on the fighters, and the size of the arena shrinks. (The reigning champ? Merle. Obviously.) Andrea is disgusted. Gov explains to her that that the zombies have been defanged, but she's not impressed.
