The Killing may be coming back from the dead.

Though the polarizing drama was canceled after wrapping up the Rosie Larsen mystery in its season two finale, AMC and Netflix are nearing a deal to bring resurrect the series, Deadline reports.

AMC and Netflix declined to comment, BUT we're hearing that the network is close to a deal with the streaming site that closely resembles the one made between NBC and DirecTV with Friday Night Lights; AMC would actually air season three's new episodes first.

The series' two leads Joel Kinnaman and Mireille Enos are both already signed on for season three.

This wouldn't be the first time Netflix has rescued shows from cancellation in the past. Netflix is of course producing new episodes of Arrested Development (for which we are eternally grateful), and it was speculated that they were also bringing back Terra Nova, Jericho and The River.
