The Grammy-winning folk duo have pulled the plug on their current European tour, as well as next year's planned trip to Australia and New Zealand, explaining via Facebook that their partnership has reached an impasse for the time being.
"We sincerely apologize for the canceling of all of our tour dates," wrote Joy White and John Paul Williams, whose Barton Hollow was named Best Folk Album at the Grammys this year.
"It is something we deeply regret. However, due to internal discord and irreconcilable differences of ambition we are unable to continue as a touring entity at this time. We thank each and every one of you for your amazing love & support. Our sincere hope is to have new music for you in 2013."
White and Williams, who joined musical forces several years ago to great critical acclaim, burst onto Top 40 radio earlier this year with "Safe & Sound," their duet with Taylor Swift on The Hunger Games soundtrack.
The duo also informed their fans that, while all concert tickets are being refunded, they can email the band and attach receipts if they need to be reimbursed for otherwise nonrefundable travel expenses.
We hope these two generous souls manage to work out their differences and reunite for the greater good soon!
