Julia Roberts and Will Smith were the big winners at the schmoozefest--billed by the superchain as the "largest publically voted awards show" (people weighed in at their local Blockbuster or Planet Hollywood, and on Blockbuster's Website)--picking up two prizes apiece.
Roberts won for fave actress in a comedy (My Best Friend's Wedding) and suspense film (Conspiracy Theory); the Fresh Prince for sci-fi actor and soundtrack (both for Men in Black).
Among the trophy takers at the star-jammed gala (winners are announced beforehand to guarantee a high-wattage attendance): Howard Stern, Jim Carrey, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Garth Brooks, Jewel and LeAnn Rimes.
The entire cast of Titanic picked up trophies, too, with hardware going to stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, and supporters Billy Zane and Kathy Bates. Other films with multiple awards included Scream 2, Batman & Robin, My Best Friend's Wedding and Conspiracy Theory.
The Blockbuster equivalent of a lifetime-achievement award--the World Artist Award--went to Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The awards were handed out at L.A.'s Pantages Theater and broadcast live on UPN.
