No Doubt just pulled an about-face.

The California rockers have yanked their new "Looking Hot" video off YouTube after getting complaints from Native Americans who said the clip's cowboys-and-Indians imagery made a mockery of their culture.

No Doubt addressed the controversy on their website Saturday, writing:

"As a multi-racial band our foundation is built upon both diversity and consideration for other cultures. Our intention with our new video was never to offend, hurt or trivialize Native American people, their culture or their history," said the band in a statement.

They continued: "Although we consulted with Native American friends and Native American studies experts at the University of California, we realize now that we have offended people. This is of great concern to us and we are removing the video immediately. The music that inspired us when we started the band, and the community of friends, family, and fans that surrounds us was built upon respect, unity and inclusiveness. We sincerely apologize to the Native American community and anyone else offended by this video. Being hurtful to anyone is simply not who we are."

No Doubt replaced the video on their YouTube channel with a cover of their new album, Push and Shove, from which the new single came.

Many of the comments were divided, however, between those who felt the "Looking Hot" clip was offensive and those who felt singer Gwen Stefani and company were bowing to political correctness.

"Why can't people make videos without playing dressup in someone else's culture?" complained a Netizen with the handle Adirgeforher.

"Freedom of speech and expression no longer exist. Really sad!" wrote another commenter named Shaun Osborn.

No Doubt meanwhile is currently across the pond gearing up to perform on The X Factor UK tonight.
