Let's Cast Star Wars 7! Who Should Play Han Solo?

A brand-new installment of Star Wars is coming! Now all we have to do is, um, sit down and hold our breath until 2015, when Disney expects the film to be released. In the meantime, we may as well have some fun with some fantasy casting. How about Han Solo?

Sources: Star Wars 7 will be brand new!

Sources close to the project tell us that the film will be based on an original story—in other words, not from any of the many books, comics or graphic novels that have supplemented the sweeping story.

So will that mean the return of the original Han—Harrison Ford? Or will we see a younger version of the brash smuggler with a heart of gold?

If that's the case, we may as well assemble our dream cast. You've already weighed in on who should play Luke Skywalker, his twin sister, Leia, and Lando Calrissian. Now you have a chance to cast Han! There's already a strong fan contingent lobbying for Nathan Fillion, a choice we would not not mind at all.

But who else might make a great Han: James Franco, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ryan Gosling, Tom Hardy or Sam Rockwell?
