Catching Fire director Francis Lawrence is here to stay!
Lawrence has just been tapped to helm the two-part movie adaptation of Mockingjay, the last book in the Hunger Games trilogy, E! News has confirmed.
Lawrence (no relation to star Jennifer Lawrence) replaced Hunger Games director Gary Ross for the franchise's second flick, which is currently filming in Atlanta.
Hunger Games star Josh Hutcherson gave Lawrence his seal of approval when we talked to him a few months ago.
"He's fantastic," Hutcherson said. "He's such a smart guy. He has some great ideas for the movie. I just really like where his head is at. I really like him a lot."
Philip Seymour Hoffman, Sam Claflin and Jena Malone are a few of the new actors who will be joining Hutcherson, Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth for Catching Fire, which is set to hit theaters at the end of next year.
