It seems Michael Lohan will take credit for just about anything these days.

After his failed intervention attempt on daughter Lindsay Lohan last month, LiLo's estranged dad boasted to TMZ today that he personally was the one responsible for getting Nadya Suleman to check into rehab in Orange, Calif., Tuesday for anxiety, stress and exhaustion.

But not so fast.

E! News talked to Octomom's rep, Gina Rodriguez, who told us that despite Michael's claims to the contrary, there was no intervention and Lohan wasn't even aware of who her client was that needed treatment, nor did he even know what the issues were.

"Michael Lohan's only participation in this was that he gave me a number to a California rehab," said the spokeswoman. "[The TMZ story] also said that Michael and I arranged the treatment, which is not correct."

Rodriguez subsequently set the record straight. "Nadya wanted to check herself into treatment and came to me for help and I got her in," the rep noted.

That statement firmly contradicts Michael's assertion that after performing more than 25 interventions through his Florida-based nonprofit for folks with substance abuse issues, he teamed up with Rodriguez to get Suleman the help she needed.

When reached for comment, Michael wouldn't back down.

"I was contacted by my Gina Rodriguez to put together a TREATMENT PLAN and FACILITY for Nadya! Those things only!" Michael tells E! News. "The most important thing is the willingness to realize and surrender to the issue and commit to getting help! Nadya was willing to!"
