Funny, it wasn't until after Hulk Hogan had a reality show that his life switched into dramatic overdrive.

The wrestling icon has settled his beef with Bubba the Love Sponge over a leaked sex tape featuring him and Bubba's then-wife, Heather Clem, closing yet another chapter in what has proven to be a most interesting read.

But should we have seen this bizarre, er, run-in coming a mile away, what with Hogan's life having turned tragicomedy years ago? Here are 11 incidents that have made Hogan family history, for better or worse:

Jan. 23, 1984: After bodyslamming Sylvester Stallone in Rocky III the year before, "Hulkamania" begins when Hulk pins the Iron Sheik to win his first WWF Championship. Much wrestling glory ensues. The WWF goes through a number of name changes until its latest incarnation is bought by WWE in 2003. Fast-forward...

July 10, 2005: Hogan Knows Best premieres on VH1, introducing us to wife Linda and kids Brooke and Nick—and adding another layer of celebrity to the WWE star's image. The show runs for four seasons and ensures that a big, bright spotlight is shining on them when the family starts to have problems.

Aug. 26, 2007: A 17-year-old Nick Hogan is behind the wheel when he loses control of his car during a street race and crashes, leaving his passenger John Graziano with permanent severe brain damage. Nick is later arrested.

Nov. 20, 2007: Hulk finds out that Linda Hogan has filed for divorce after 24 years of marriage when a reporter for Florida's St. Petersburg Times calls him for comment. Relations take a sharp turn for the bitter, with Linda claiming that Hulk cheated on her with Brooke's best friend and was trying to screw her out of money. Later saying that he just wanted to put an end to things and move on with his life, Hulk agrees to hand over about 70 percent of their assets, worth roughly $30 million, to Linda.

2008: Linda starts dating Charley Hill, 29 years her junior. They announced their engagement in 2010 but, after a round of Couples Therapysplit up earlier this year.

May 9, 2008: Nick is sentenced to eight months in jail after pleading no contest to felony reckless driving involving serious injury. He serves 166 days, turning 18 while behind bars.

June 16, 2009: Brooke Hogan tells E! News that she's the "only one with [her] head on straight" and that she has no idea what's wrong with her mom. Of Linda's then-boyfriend, Charley Hill, she says: "He is a loser. I don't have a problem with age, it's more about character. Her love is not real and not right."

Dec. 14, 2010: Hulk ties the knot with the very tan, blond and curvaceous Jennifer McDaniel with Nick as his best man. All is lovely, except for the paparazzo who alleges that he got a little pushed around by nuptial security. A report is filed with police but nothing ever comes of it.

December 2011: Hulk sues Linda for defamation over a memoir she wrote, Wrestling the Hulk—My Life Against the Ropes, in which she claims her ex-husband had homosexual encounters.

Oct. 5: One minute and 30 seconds of grainy, black-and-white, heterosexual infamy—aka, a Hogan-Clem sex-tape teaser—is leaked to Gawker.com. Hulk makes the media rounds, explaining that the tape was made, without his knowledge, at a "very, very low point" of his life about six years ago.

Oct. 5: Linda Hogan is arrested for driving under the influence, claiming she was on antibiotics and had one glass of champagne on an empty stomach at a jewelry party. No contest: Hulk's news wins the day.
