THE 64TH PRIMETIME EMMY AWARDS, Jimmy Kimmel

ABC/BOB D'AMICO

Even Jimmy Kimmel is no match for Frankenstorm.

The late-night host planned to bring Jimmy Kimmel Live Back to Brooklyn, N.Y., all this week, but Hurricane Sandy caused the funnyman to cancel Monday night's show.

"Though it pains us to do it, JKLfrom #Brooklyn tonight is cancelled," Kimmel tweeted Monday. "I'm disappointed too, but we want you to be safe."

The show's publicist told the Hollywood Reporter that Jimmy Kimmel Live's staff is "hopeful to be back on the air [Tuesday] night with Howard Stern, Tracy Morgan and Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings."

Neither Jon Stewart's The Daily Show nor Stephen Colbert's The Colbert Report will be taping tonight, and Comedy Central will air repeats. Tomorrow's show status is still TBD, depending on how the storm evolves.

David Letterman still plans to tape The Late Show, but without an audience, and previously scheduled guests Denzel Washington and Paul Banks will appear.

While the brunt of the storm is expected to hit NYC Monday night, Sandy has already caused numerous Broadway and TV productions to shut down

Stay safe, everyone!
