Just how awesome is The New Normal's Bryan (Andrew Rannells)? Not only is he the showrunner of a mega-hit TV show Sing (sound familiar?), but he's also besties with Nicole Richie!

Richie is set to guest star on the NBC hit series' upcoming Halloween episode, where she plays herself. Or, you know, a slightly over-the-top version of herself.

We got our hands on an exclusive sneak peek of the oh-so-fashionable celeb's guest appearance, which features BFFs Nicole and Bryan pumpkin-picking in front of the paparazzi!

"Can you hold this pumpkin in front of my head to obscure their shot?" Nicole asks Bryan in the clip. Of course, being the best BFF there is, he obliges and manages to strike a few poses for the paps! (Nicole's reaction to his posing? Ah-mah-zing.)

It seems as though this trip to the pumpkin patch with Nicole is a Halloween tradition for Bryan, who loves getting into the holiday spirit by making sure his house' decorations are the best in the neighborhood. Also guest-starring in The New Normal's Halloween episode is George Takei as Sam, the make-up artist on Bryan's show, who is enlisted to help his boss with everyone's costumes, which will be Here Comes Honey Boo Boo-themed, natch.

The New Normal airs at 10:30 p.m. this Tuesday on NBC.

(E! and NBC are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
