OK, maybe we went a bit overboard, but let's be real, hair in Hollywood is one big deal.
The Gossip Girl star has rocked luscious long brown locks since she first debuted as Blair Waldorf on the boob tube, but Thursday night, Leighton stepped out sporting a short brown 'do and a totally different look.
The TV star attended the Flaunt magazine dinner party to celebrate her new cover at Ink restaurant in Hollywood, Calif. She wore a patterned Mary Katrantzou dress and pointed-toe heels and smiled as she showed off her short hair, which barely touches the babe's shoulders.
Leighton decided to try the new look now that filming for the final season of Gossip Girl has wrapped (we're still hoping she'll sport a headband or two postshow), and she admits it was time for a makeover after the end of the hit series:
"Yes! I chopped off my hair after Gossip Girl wrapped," the 26-year-old actress told Just Jared. "My long, wavy hair got a lot of mileage, so it was time for a change."
