Taylor Swift's love life is no Camelot, after all.
Taylor and her once-inseparable boyfriend Conor Kennedy have broken up, having quietly called it quits within the past few weeks after an intense summer romance.
There was no immediate comment from Swift's rep on the split, which was first reported by Us Weekly.
While heartbreak is never pleasant, particularly on such a public scale, there is one positive in this whole mess: Taylor probably has new breakup song material for her next album.
The "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" singer had been dating the high school senior and political scion since the middle of summer, and the duo went on to make one public outing after another together, turning themselves into a veritable walking tourism campaign for all of Cape Cod.
The 22-year-old and her 18-year-old beau first stepped out on the scene together in July, when Swift turned up at the Kennedy family compound in Hyannisport.
Meanwhile, the sad news comes in the wake of Swift's media blitz for Red, during which she's been particularly keen to avoid discussing her relationship (makes sense, of course, in retrospect) going so far as to avoid referring to Conor by name (her interviewers, of course, showed her no such courtesy). It also comes after members of the famous Kennedy family seemed to trip over themselves to lavish compliments on the songbird.
Per various reports, the breakup was totally amicable, and down to the distance between them, citing Taylor's nonstop work schedule through the end of the year. As for Conor, he stepped out solo earlier this month at the premiere of the HBO documentary on his grandmother, Ethel.
So, might they get back together? Well, never say never ever.
