Tom Hanks is one of the nicest guys in Hollywood, but we can't let last week's accidental F-bomb totally slip through the cracks.

Wednesday night at the premiere of Cloud Atlas in Los Angeles, E! News asked the 56-year-old actor, who was joined by wife Rita Wilson, if he uses the four-letter curse word regularly.

"No, no, no, I don't," he said emphatically.

"As long as you're not an employee of the Playtone galaxy of stars," he quipped. (Playtone is Hanks and partner Gary Goetzman's production company.) "You've never heard me use that word."

The Parents Television Council wasn't the only one who took issue with Hanks' cursing: His mom, Janet Marylyn Frager, was none too pleased with her son's foul language.

"Not only that, I've got a mom," he said. "Who, if it's possible to reach through the phone and slap your mouth, my mom did it, or would have done it to me over the phone!"

Ha! We think it's safe to say Hanks learned his lesson.
