Oh. My. God. Really not sure what else to say about tonight's Homeland.

It took four episodes but Brody (Damian Lewis) and Carrie (Claire Danes) finally come face-to-face, and it was worth the wait.

So, did they kiss and pretend to make up? Or could this cat and mouse game be over? Let's discuss "New Car Smell" right now.

WHAT WE LEARNED:

The Plan: After watching the videotape, a stunned David Estes (David Harewood) gives the go ahead for a small team outside of the agency to follow Brody. He and Saul (Mandy Patinkin) agree it's best to lay low in hopes Brody leads them to Abu Nazir (Navid Negahban), who is planning to attack the US. Estes hand picks the select group to be involved, including Carrie, but puts his own analyst (Peter) in charge. Carrie being Carrie doesn't entirely trust him and has Virgil (David Marciano) check him out.

There's Trouble on the Home Front:  Jessica (Morena Baccarin) is pissed Brody missed the Veterans dinner, so she kicks him out and says not to come back until he can be honest with her. Lauder (the drunk ex-Marine who used to work with Brody and Walker) is starting to get Mike to believe some of his bad theories about Brody. Dana and Finn Walden get lip-lockin' closer, literally. Meanwhile, Brody is all jumpy from his misadventures with the bomb maker (whom he killed), and a run in outside the CIA doesn't help matters.

"It's Been a While": Finally! Carrie and Brody meet! Since Carrie is Brody's "Achilles heel" Peter suggests Carrie not-so-coincidentally runs into Brody outside of Langley. It's simple: Carrie lets slip she is back at the CIA, Brody freaks that her theories about him are back in play, Brody gets spooked and goes to his handlers and all of this will be caught on candid camera.

Renew the Relationship:  Roya Hammad (Zuleikha Robinson), the pretty journalist/Nazir's groupie, suggests Brody get close to Carrie again and find out what she's doing back at the CIA. So that he does. "I was just wondering if we could bury the hatchet, for real," Brody says when he calls up Carrie to come meet him for a drink. Peter gives Carrie the A-OK and sends her to spook him more. Side note: digging Peter. You?

He Made Me: Carrie and Brody meet at the hotel bar—which he prefaces by saying it's not a booty call (ugh)—and Carrie lets it purposefully slip that she's close to getting Abu Nazir. Brody catches her off guard by apologizing for calling Estes, ultimately getting her fired, and asks about ECT. Carrie got pissed and "showed her hand" for a second, so she is convinced Brody is onto her. Peter tells her to stand down, but we all know how well Carrie takes orders.

Room 416: As Carrie makes her way to Brody's room we were expecting some clothes to start to fly, but instead it's words. Carrie says she knows about the suicide vest Brody failed to detonate. He walks close to her, brags about his killing abilities saying, "I liked you Carrie," as he looks ready to add another notch to his death post. "I loved you," she replies before agents swarm in and take Brody down. "If only the circumstances had been wildly different. You're a disgrace to your nation Sargent Nicholas Brody. You're a traitor and a terrorist, and now it's time you pay for that."
