It only took about eight years, but David Letterman has finally accepted Jimmy Kimmel's late-night invitation to appear on the Jimmy Kimmel Live! couch.

The ABC host is bringing the show to his hometown of Brooklyn, N.Y., later this month, where the 44-year-old television personality will finally get a chance to sit down with his lifelong idol. Chris Rock, Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert and Tracy Morgan are also slated as guests for the Brooklyn-based series.

Letterman as a guest is an iconic move for Kimmel, as he has idolized the former Late Night and current Late Show host since he was a kid.

Jimmy Kimmel Live! is set to broadcast from the Brooklyn Academy of Music from Oct. 29 to Nov. 2.

The series of shows will also boast musical performances by Alicia Keys, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Vampire Weekend and the Avett Brothers with the Brooklyn Philharmonic.
