RoboCop fans will have to wait a little bit longer to see the crime-fighting cyborg (Joel Kinnaman) back in action.

Sony and MGM have pushed back the sci-fi flick's original Aug. 9, 2013 release date to Feb. 7, 2014, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

While a specific reason wasn't given for the switch-up, the mag said the move would allow more time for special effects and postproduction.

Meanwhile, sci-fi film Elysium was bumped into that Aug. 9 spot, moving from its original March 1, 2013 release date.

The film, starring Matt Damon and Jodie Foster, focuses on a space station in 2159 that is occupied by the wealthy, while the rest of the population lives on a ravaged Earth.

But, one thing fans won't have to bide their time for as they wait for the RoboCop reboot is a glimpse at the action hero's futuristic bike.

Photos from the set of the film made their rounds around the web Monday, showing RoboCop riding a souped-up motorcycle that matches the copper's all-black armored suit.
