The duo, who wed at a chapel on Crowe's New South Wales farm in 2003, have reportedly separated after nine years of marriage, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.
The 48-year-old Gladiator star and his musician wife met while playing lovers in the 1990 movie The Crossing, according to People.
Crowe and 43-year-old Spencer have two children together, Charles, 8, and Tennyson, 6.
The couple's reps have not yet responded to requests for comment.
