Jack Osbourne Explains Heroic Moves in Hawaii: "Last Thing I Want to Do Is Take All the Credit"

We're not sure who would be getting on Jack Osbourne's case after he assisted in the rescue of a drowning woman earlier this week in Hawaii, but...it takes all kinds, apparently.

In response to some folks who were "oddly hostile and rude" to the newly married father of a 5-month-old daughter, Osbourne took to Facebook to clarify the roles he and a buddy played on the beach that day.

"I never said I was the sole contributor in the rescue," he asserted. "In fact, I haven't said anything at all. The last thing I want to do is take all of the credit when in fact there were a few people who helped save her life."

In fact, it was Osbourne's wife, Lisa Stelly, who proudly tweeted about her hubby's rescue efforts.

Osbourne writes that he and his friend Tyler, a former Army operator, were on the beach Monday when a family member informed them that a woman was being pulled out of the water.

"In case you are not aware, I was a police reserve for 5 years and have had a lot of training in CPR and as a first responder," he notes. "I am not an EMT or Paramedic, but I have assisted in resuscitating individuals in the past."

The woman was not consicous when he and Tyler got to the scene, Osbourne writes, and there were around five people already there assisting in resuscitation efforts (chest compressions, defibrillators, etc.), which were being headed up by a neurosurgeon from Japan.

Tyler and Osbourne assisted in lifting the woman onto a spine board and then the two of them took over chest compressions as a golf cart ferried them toward the front of the hotel.

"During his attempt, I was holding the woman's lifeless body so she wouldn't fall from the moving vehicle," Osbourne continues. "Tyler and I switched positions, and I straddled the woman in order to get the right amount of leverage for the chest compressions. Once we arrived, we waited for the EMT for approximately 4-6 minutes. During that time, I continued to administer chest compressions. As soon as the EMT's arrived, I backed away and let them take over."

Sounds like Osbourne is quite the team player—and the A-team, at that.

"From what I've heard, she's doing better and is now awake," he concludes his post. "I hope she has a speedy recovery."

The 28-year-old had just tied the knot with Stelly the previous day.
