NBCHulk Hogan is still grappling with the awful realization that his privacy was invaded.
Appearing on the Today show, the pro-wrestling legend and erstwhile Hogan Knows Best star talked about the sex tape that has been the source of much mortification to him and his family since it was leaked to the Web last week.
"First off, I had no idea there was a camera in the room. It was at a very, very low point. I'm not making excuses. I'm accountable. I was the guy. I was there. I made the choice," the 59-year-old Hogan told co-hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb when they asked about "the elephant in the room."
But the WWE icon, who was appearing on Today to plug his new venture as general manager of TNA Impact Wrestling, was quick to point out that the secretly recorded sexual relations came when his 25-year old union to his first wife, Linda Hogan, had already imploded.
"It was at a really low point in my life when I was in a previous marriage when things were bottomed out completely," said Hogan. "I was with some friends and I made a wrong choice. And now, all of a sudden, it surfaces over six years later, and it's just appalling. It's totally flipped my new life…upside down."
Hulk, real name Terry Bollea, also expressed concern for his two kids, Brooke and Nick, who he said were "fine." However, he noted his new wife, Jennifer McDaniel, is "rattled" to say the least.
"She's not part of this media life or anything, and it's something that's devastated me totally and I've never been on something on this level," he said.
Hogan earlier discussed the situation on The Howard Stern Show, saying he was "devastated" and seeming to confirm that the woman in the video was Heather Clem, the ex-wife of radio host Bubba the Love Sponge. He also claimed in the conversation to have a "gut instinct" who leaked the tape, but wasn't ready to say who that person was.
Hogan told Today that he's going "full-blown" to learn the identity of the leaker. He has also sworn to take appropriate legal action and his attorney, David Houston, tells E! News that he has spoken to law enforcement today about the leaked sex tape.
"We are in the process of reporting everything to law enforcement," the legal eagle said.
Houston added he plans on filing a federal civil suit in Tampa, Fla., this week against Gawker, which posted a sampling of the sex tape footage last week.
