The congratulations are pouring in for Good Morning America's Sam Champion and partner Rubem Robierb after they announced their engagement, and the adorable couple couldn't be more thankful for the well wishes.
The GMA weatherman announced his betrothal to his longtime love on Friday, and the duo appeared on Monday's program to discuss their wedding and thank fans for the outpouring of love and support.
"The amazing response from folks all over the country was just incredible for us," Champion gushed on the show.
"I felt like we lived in a small town...I was born in Paducah, Ky., and to me that's exactly what it felt like. We walked out on the street and everyone was like, 'Hey, congratulations.'"
And of course, he received a whole lot of social media love: "Thank you for the tweets, and the Facebook and just coming up on the street and saying the most wonderful things."
Also giving a shout-out: Ben Affleck, who appeared on GMA Monday to promote his new film, Argo:
"I want to congratulate Sam," Affleck said. "It's to our shame that you can't get married in every state in the union, but one day I hope you will be able to. It's very exciting. I was very inspired…a moving, love story."
And even though GMA cohost Robin Roberts is currently on medical leave following her bone marrow transplant last month, she still found time to tweet happy thoughts to the twosome:
"You know how thrilled I am for you, @SamChampion and Rubem! Hope to be well enough to attend the wedding. Much love to you both."
Clearly, Champion is equally as thrilled:
"I have met the most wonderful, giving, loving, caring person. I am so, so lucky to have someone like this in my life," Champion said of his longtime love as Robierb smiled from ear to ear.
