We all know who Bert and Ernie are going to vote for (Barack Obama has the whole marriage equality thing, and c'mon, we're not still buying they're "roommates," right?). We hear Elmo is all about ObamaCare too. Which left the only swing vote on dear Sesame Street to Big Bird.

And Mitt Romney effectively booted him to the left after last night's debates. Though the GOP hopeful claimed to like the giant feathered friend of millions of kiddos, his planned budget cuts of Sesame Street's home network, PBS, would effectively—at least according to a social network outcry—kill Big Bird.

Big Bird himself seemed to miss out on the action (tweeting, "@sesamestreet: Big Bird: My bed time is usually 7:45, but I was really tired yesterday and fell asleep at 7! Did I miss anything last night?") but the Internet took a stand in the best way it could: through memes.
