When news anchor Jennifer Livingston confronted a letter writer who'd criticized her physique on air, thousands of women and men around the world cheered her on.

But one of Jennifer's biggest supporters also happens to be a big (but not Mr. Big) celebrity: Sex and the City's Ron Livingston! (He played Sarah Jessica Parker's short-term love interest Berger in 2003.)

"My sister Jennifer is an Emmy winning journalist and mother of three amazing girls," Livingston said in a statement. "She brings an exceptional dedication to her job, her family, and her community, and has been a role model of mine for many, many years. I'm extremely proud of her."

When asked Wednesday on CBS' The Talk if the Office Space star was supportive of Jennifer's passionate defense of her appearance, she confirmed, "He was!"

"I got an email from him," she said. "I think it said something like, 'Whoa! Saw you all over the place,' and, 'Way to go sis!'"

But Ron isn't the only one in Hollywood lending support. Jennifer Love Hewitt, who has had her own weight scrutinized on multiple occasions, tweeted that "the anchor who fought back against comments made about her, is my new hero! Way to go! She's a beautiful woman!"

"What a powerful message against bullying," Ellen DeGeneres added. "@news8jennifer, I would love to meet you in person."

Maybe that will happen! In the meantime, Jennifer tweeted that she "would love" to do community related work to combat bullying.

You go, girl!
