A sketch of the bride's strapless ivory silk point tulle dress shows the intricate details of the custom gown. The veil, reminiscent of the 1920s, consisted of a lace ribbon with a large flower adorned with small crystal beads. Valentino Garavani designed it especially for Hathaway and their seamstresses at the couture atelier in Rome made it.
Valentino told E! News weeks before Hathaway said "I do" to Adam Shulman that the Les Misérables star was "a good friend" and "like my daughter."
"She's sensational. She's fantastic," he gushed. "She's a girl that...She deserves what she has in this life. [That] means, she's already a great star. But she's going to be a great, great, great, great thousand times great star. She has all the qualities."
