At the Chanel Paris Fashion Week show, Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld sent his models down the runway with a bizarre bag made from hula hoops.

To the untrained fashion eye, that thing Karl Lagerfeld has slung over his shoulder could be any one of the following: hula hoop, a giant monocle or unicycle tire.

You'd be wrong, of course, because that accessory is a massive beach bag, and it graced the Chanel Paris Fashion Week runway today at the Grand Palais, bien sûr.

Perhaps Lagerfeld grew tired of his models complaints that their own bags didn't have enough space to store the endless kale leaves and water bottles filled with organic air that they so desperately need. So, he crafted this for them.

Secretly, though, we hope that this doubles as a carrying case for his fluffy white kitty, Choupette, so that they can be together backstage and whisper about how much better their bag is than Jessica Simpson's.

That's just what we'd like to think, is all.
