Modern Family's Julie Bowen Has Emmys Fashion Emergency, Still Hoping to Look Like Sofia Vergara's Cousin

We check in with some of your favorite stars to find out what they'll be wearing on Emmy day

Uh-oh! Modern Family funny lady Julie Bowen has already had an Emmys dress fashion emergency.

"I busted the zipper already once," she told us at the Audi and Derek Lam party. "I was like, ‘Reinforce it!'"

Bowen is determined to wear her Monique Lhuillier gown tomorrow because it's a "bright color" and it makes her look "curvy" like a certain someone. "[I picked it] because it made me look like Sofia Vergara's distant, distant cousin," Bowen said. "It has a corset inside that honestly might fold my ribs on top of each other and give me a waist. I don't care. How will I sit down? We haven't addressed that. Don't care."

Elisabeth Moss said picking out a dress was a lot easier this year because a designer offered to make something for her.

"To be honest, I might have teared up when I found out they were going to do it," the Mad Men nominee told us at Entertainment Weekly's pre-Emmy party at Fig & Olive. "I respect them so much that I said, ‘You guys do what you do and then they sent me some sketches!"

Big Bang Theory star Mayim Bialik's Pamella Roland number was inspired by a multi-hued Judith Lieber purse. And she'll be doing her best to cover up her injured right hand, which is still in a cast.

"We still have a coupe choices of what that will look like," she said at last night's Emmy Performers nominee reception. "We'll probably just decide on the day. But it's long sleeved and it's got kind of an elaborate wrist so that it [the cast] can be fancily hidden."

"I'll be wearing David Meister," Breaking Bad's Betsy Brandt said of her Emmys look. "Even if I look around at something else I always end up going back to David Meister. I think he is so feminine and it's always so flattering."

Kate Walsh isn't going to the Emmys, but she will be hitting the post-parties in a Stella McCartney number.

"It's bad ass," the Private Practice star said at the EW party. "It's a really pretty color blue."

Newsroom beauty Olivia Munn will be at HBO's bash at the Pacific Design Center in a black Giorgio Armani Privé Couture gown.

"It's the first time I'm wearing something that's one of a kind," she beamed. "I was like, ‘I'm going to take this before you realize I shouldn't be wearing it!'"
