MarvelCue the montage 'cause Tony Stark's getting a makeover! Can't you just imagine Rhodes (Don Cheadle) and Pepper (Gwyneth Paltrow) giggling and thumbs-upping Tony (Robert Downey Jr.) as he emerges from the dressing room in various suits?!
While that particular scene probably won't make the cut in the upcoming Iron Man 3, both Downey's and Cheadle's signature suits will be getting a new paintjob. And today Marvel released an official look at the suits in action.
Iron Man will get a gold suit for the third go-round. It shouldn't surprise anyone that Tony will get a tech upgrade this time, as he's donned a different suit in each film in the franchise (including The Avengers).
The new Extremis armor debuted at Comic-Con this summer and was met with some fan backlash. But we're sure the flashy suit, which could be permanently fused with Tony's body (as in the comic), will not disappoint.
The other upgraded outfit belongs to Don's Rhodes—aka Tony's BFF Rhodey aka War Machine. After the Iron Patriot armor made its star-spangled debut on set, producer Kevin Feige admitted to Con crowds that it would be worn by Cheadle.
Though the suits certainly look dope in this new artwork, we can't wait to actually see them in action. Iron Man 3, which will be directed by Shane Black, is set to hit theaters on May 3, 2013.
