It's right about now that we suspect Kate Middleton and Prince William wouldn't mind extending their Diamond Jubilee tour of the South Pacific.

Because while there's no place like home, their home happens to be the pinnacle of the tabloid-crazy, still-going-strong topless photo scandal that broke while they were abroad.

Still, the royal couple today boarded a plane (a commercial plane, mind you) back to the U.K., wrapping up their nine-day tour, albeit not before making one more brief stop.

After their whirlwind world tour, the couple, who took a charter flight from Tuvalu to Australia, briefly touched down Down Under for a three-hour layover at the Brisbane airport. They were, of course, immediately hounded by local TV crews, paparazzi and several hundred fans, waving to them all as they made their way to the Singapore Airlines VIP lounge.

And since this is Kate we're talking about, she even managed to fit in an outfit change along the way. Though she arrived on the tarmac in a pale-pink floral Project D dress designed by Aussie Dannii (sister of Kylie) Minogue, she headed to London in a much more casual skinny jeans, white shirt and blue scarf ensemble. Gotta be comfortable on those long-haul flights, after all.

Because no detail is too small to report on the royals, the Telegraph points out that the duo boarded their flight just 10 minutes before takeoff. (Any more time than that and the onboard ogling would no doubt start to get awkward.)

Meanwhile, Prince Charles and Camilla today announced plans for a Jubilee trip of their own, with Clarence House revealing that the duo will be visiting Papua New Guinea, Australia and New Zealand Nov. 3-16 for their part in the global Diamond Jubilee celebrations. It will be the Duchess of Cornwall's first trip to the region.

And, we can all hope, be much less mired in scandal than Will and Kate's.
