Niecy Nash has been forced to relive a horrific memory.

The Soul Man and former Clean House star's 17-year-old brother, Michael Ensley, was murdered in the early 1990s, and now his killer, Robert Lee Heard, is behind bars again after being accused of stabbing his wife to death.

"No family should have to endure the loss of a loved one at the hands of a previously convicted violent criminal," Niecy said in a statement to E! News after learning of Heard's arrest in St. Landry, La.

"I am deeply saddened to hear that the man who murdered my brother, Michael Ensley, has been charged with murder again. I grieve for every family who has been victimized by this heinous individual. My prayers and love go out to the family of Demetra Doyle Heard during this trying time."

According to KATC-TV in Lafayette, La., Heard was arrested Saturday, less than 12 hours after his wife's body was found at their home, and charged with first-degree murder. He and Demetra had just married in June.

Eunice Police Chief Ronald Dies told the station that there had been no reports of trouble from the couple's house.

Heard, who's currently in St. Landry Parish Jail, was convicted of murdering Nash's brother, Michael, a fellow student at Reseda High School in California's San Fernando Valley, in 1993. He was only 15, so he was charged as a juvenile and locked up at a youth facility until 2002.

Having moved to Louisiana, Heard was sent to prison for attempted murder in 2003 and was just released on parole in July 2011.
