Michael Madsen is on the mend.
The Reservoir Dogs star was released from the hospital Thursday, per the Washington Post. Madsen, 54, was arrested Wednesday in Malibu on suspicion of driving under the influence and hospitalized after complaining to authorities he was ill.
"Michael has been on prescription medication that easily could have made him look to be under the influence and caused him to fail the sobriety test," his attorney, Perry Wander, said.
L.A. County Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore, however, told E! News Madsen smelled of alcohol at the scene Wednesday and had a blood-alcohol level of 0.21 percent at the time of his arrest.
"His nemesis is white wine," Wander said. "Obviously he's going to have to utilize this experience to motivate him to get help. It's an ongoing battle."
Madsen's rep and attorney have not yet returned E! News' requests for comment.
