Cue the bloodshed and brutality, because filming on The Hunger Games: Catching Fire has officially started today in Atlanta, Georgia.

Which means it's time to keep your eyes peeled for on-set pictures of Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks (in what are sure to be even more fierce Effie outfits) and franchise newbie Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Later in the year, the cast—along with new additions Sam Claflin, Jena Malone and Jeffrey Wright—will travel to the beaches and jungles of Hawaii, the location which will stand in for another deadly (yet sun kissed!) arena for the annual Hunger Games.

Filming is expected to wrap in December of this year with the release date set for Nov. 22, 2013.

"We are so excited to be embarking on this adventure with Francis Lawrence, who has already exhibited immense creative vision and resourcefulness in casting the film and planning its look and feel," Lionsgate President of Production Eric Feig revealed about the director who will take over for Gary Ross.

Feig continues, "The stakes are raised in every way in this second story, and we are thrilled to get the production underway in these perfect locations, with our excellent returning cast and some world-class actors in new roles."

And if the idea of waiting until November after next for some H.G. action seems like a far crueler fate than anything President Snow could invent, you're in luck. Because Lionsgate is also launching a sweepstakes in which 12 fans can win a chance to visit the set of the film.

Just know: It doesn't involve fighting to the death. So that's probably a good thing, right?
