From her svelte figure to her doting fiancé to her rising fame, Jennifer Hudson oozes beauty and confidence in her own skin.

But the transition to Hollywood wasn't always easy for the Academy Award-winning star. In an exclusive clip for Oprah's Next Chapter, Hudson reveals that she was surprised by Tinseltown's emphasis on image and quickly learned her personal expectations were starkly different than the celebrity standard:

"Already I had lost like 60 pounds then, I was exercising everyday I got down to a size 12 and I got to Hollywood and they were like, 'How do you feel being the big girl?'" Hudson shares with Oprah Winfrey. "And I was like, 'Who are they talking to?' I literally looked around like this is normal, this is fine, this is average, where I come from it's totally fine, so I couldn't understand."

She continues, adding that she never had a lack of confidence even in her larger days:

"Another one they would say is 'Do you feel insecure being a big girl?' And I thought, 'Why should I feel insecure?' I remember saying 'I have the height of a model, lips people pay for, you things like that,'" Jennifer spills.

No argument here! But despite the fact that Jennifer Hudson has one of the most pucker-worthy pouts in the biz, she admits to tweaking her image (via lip injections!) for her role in Dreamgirls:

"When I did Dreamgirls I actually had to get my dent right here injected because it was affecting the lighting," she says pointing at her top lip. "And when I got it done the doctor was like 'I do not want to do this do you realize people come in here and pay to have the lips you have naturally.' And I was like, 'I don't want to but I have to for the movie!'"

Hey, as long as it's for a role, Jen! In our eyes, you've always been a beautiful Hollywood babe.

Oprah's Next Chapter with Jennifer Hudson airs Sunday, Sept. 9 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network.
