Shedding those pregnancy pounds is never easy, but it's even more difficult when the whole world is watching your waistline!
Jessica Simpson, who gave birth to baby Maxwell Drew Johnson on May 1, knows this better than anyone. The 32-year-old fashion entrepreneur and new celebrity spokeswoman for Weight Watchers opened up to USA Today recently about her relationship with food and her body.
"I let myself indulge in everything I wanted because it was the first time I was ever pregnant, and I wanted to enjoy it," she said. "I wanted to be happy and eat what I wanted."
Jessica also revealed that she "didn't realize [the weight] didn't all come off with the baby."
"I'm not a supermodel. My body is not bouncing back like a supermodel," she admitted. "I'm just your everyday woman who is trying to feel good and be healthy for her daughter, her fiancé and herself."
The 5-foot-4 blond beauty said she walks a lot. "My boobs are way too big to run at this point," she said. Eric Johnson (and baby Maxwell!) join in on the cardio, too. "I have his support but not his pressure," Jessica gushed of her man. "The fact that he loves me the way I am right now—we're set. He knows I want to feel better in my skin."
And although Jessica said she knows her weight "has always been something that people like to comment on," she hopes "it'll start to get boring at some point."
"Nobody wants to talk about their weight," she said. "For me, I have had to come to a place where I am comfortable with myself. I'm a mom now, and get to be a role model for this beautiful little girl."
She's also a role model to women around the world striving to be healthy and happy. Way to go, Jess!
