It was a flight Wes Scantlin would probably like to forget.

The Puddle of Mudd frontman was collared today at Bergstrom International Airport in Austin, Texas, after allegedly getting into a spat with a flight attendant over alcohol while in the air.

The Austin Police Department tells E! News it was notified that there was an "unruly" passenger aboard a JetBlue airliner from Boston that was bound for Los Angeles.

"The flight was diverted to Austin due to Wes Scantlin, lead singer of Puddle of Mudd," authorities said. "Once the plane landed the officers did their investigation and deemed that the individual was intoxicated and was placed under arrest for public intoxication."

According to Austin PD, officers later tacked on an additional charge of interference with a flight crew, which investigators with the Transportation Security Agency plan to follow up on.

Scantlin was immediately transported and booked into Travis County Jail, where he remains behind bars.

His attorney does not have a statement or comment at this time.

A source tells E! News that the "Blurry" singer "got into it" with a flight attendant over his excessive drinking during the flight.

A rep for Puddle of Mud was unavailable for comment.

Scantlin has run afoul of the law on multiple occasions—for public intoxication following a drunken performance, failing to pay his taxes or most recently, cocaine possession, for which the headbanger pleaded guilty to this past July and escaped jail time in return for prosecutors dropping two misdemeanors if he successfully completes a drug counseling program.
