Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney can count Angelina Jolie's famous father Jon Voight among his celeb supporters.

The 73-year-old actor and well-known conservative is speaking out while at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, slamming President Barack Obama and comparing him to Venezuela's socialist President Hugo Chavez.

"The media has been taken over by this administration," Voight told The Daily Caller.

"It's not less than what has happened in Venezuela with Hugo Chavez, really, because you can't get the information through," he said. "I'm giving you this because I want to get the press my opinion. You can put it in any way you want to. But, it's become pure propaganda and we should be appalled."

"America, guys, wake up," Voight continued. "You should be appalled that they can get away with it, that they can attack—the Republican Party is a victim of a bias, of a destructive bias against the Republican Party. It's been going on for all this time and it's getting worse and worse. And, now this? Come on, people, stand up."

Voight went on to endorse Romney for president.

"I think because of Gov. Romney's great talents, his great compassion, his great gifts of leadership, he's going to win this election," he said. "The people are going to become aware of these qualities."

Voight's not the only conservative in the Brangelina family tree. His comments come just over a month after Brad Pitt's mama Jane Pitt dissed Obama for supporting same-sex marriage and praised Romney for his "Christian conviction concerning homosexuality."

Voight also talked to E! News about Jolie's political involvement. "[She's] not so involved in politics, she's involved in refugees," he said. "She loves children of course and she's saved these three kids, she adopted these three lovely kids. She's a humanitarian."
