Now here's something you don't see every day (or ever, really)—Benicio Del Toro on daddy duty!

The Savages star, toting what we imagine was a diaper- and formula-filled backpack, was spotted in L.A. Saturday with baby mama Kimberly Stewart and their newly 1-year-old daughter Delilah, who hit single digits on Aug. 21 (the same day mom turned 33).

Delilah made her public debut on the cover of Hello! when she was just a couple months old, but this is the first time all three members of the quirky family have been seen together.

Del Toro, 45, and Rod Stewart's daughter were no longer (or never were) a couple when the Oscar winner's rep confirmed that he was going to be a dad for the first time, but they have stayed good friends.

Stewart told Hello! in October that Del Toro was at the hospital when she gave birth, along with the rest of her family.

"Benicio's very involved—he and Delilah have a very special bond," she said, noting that their daughter "definitely looks like her dad, but she has my legs and eye color." (We'd say Stewart's legs are a bit more statuesque, but OK.)

Outside a private residence Saturday, a casually barefoot Stewart carried Delilah (who, yes, is named after the Tom Jones song) to the car while Del Toro followed with the baby gear.

Whatever their system is, it appears to be working for them.
