As if The Birds wasn't creepy enough! Apparently the real creepster stuff was going on behind the scenes with infamous director Alfred Hitchcock and the star of the show, Tippi Hedren. And now it's getting a movie of its own in HBO's The Girl.
Sienna Miller dons the cute retro dresses, pearl earrings and coiffed blond locks of Tippi, while Toby Jones (of The Hunger Games fame, among other works) delivers the heebie-jeebies as Mr. Hitchcock, who became obsessed with his actress and muse while working on their two joint films.
The real Tippi told reporters at the Television Critics Association earlier this month that Hitchcock "ruined my career, but he didn't ruin my life." But if the movie—which premieres on HBO Saturday, Oct. 20—is anywhere near as chilling as this teaser, his legacy might ruin a few nights of good sleep too.
