Alexander Skarsgård's Biggest Battleship Fear? It Wasn't Aliens!

Exclusive: Peter Berg discusses working with the True Blood actor on the big-budget film

Battleship has big guns attached to bigger ships, aliens equipped with intergalactic guns and, most lethal of all, a trash-talking Rihanna as a Navy officer who mans (you guessed it!) a really, really big gun! None of those things scared Alexander Skarsgård when it came to signing on to the box office epic.

"I've never worked on a movie this big before, and I was honest with [director Peter Berg]," Skarsgård reveals in this exclusive behind-the-scenes clip that will be part of the special features of the new Blu-ray/DVD release.

Alexander continues, "I said, 'I'm nervous! The scope of the movie, is that going to infringe on my creativity?'...And he just laughed and said, 'Don't worry, it's very organic and playful and creative.'"

That's hardly the concern we expected from the man who's done nearly everything imaginable on the premium cable hit True Blood (including stripping to nearly nothing nearly every week). And Pete was able to calm Alex's woes. Berg explains, "He's a very talented and appealing and charming young actor. It's really fun to watch him."

Oh, and yes, Taylor Kitsch does make a cameo in the clip. And while Skarsgård does all the talking, Kitsch's guns say plenty on their own. Battleship arrives on Blu-ray and DVD on Tuesday.
