Where does a TV show go after killing off its main character?
That was the dilemma Two and a Half Men faced last season after leading man Charlie Sheen was fired off the show in spectacular fashion. To replace him, they brought in Ashton Kutcher, and a new dilemma was born: How does this character fit into the world of Two and a Half Men?
In this exclusive behind-the-scenes clip from Two and a Half Men: The Complete Ninth Season (out tomorrow), Jon Cryer, Chuck Lorre and more talk about the process of bringing on a newbie to a show that was nine seasons in, and how they were able to make it work.
"I think people were worried, 'Would there be chemistry?' But when you're playing opposite someone as good as [Kutcher], there's gonna be," Cryer says. "We'll figure something out! I don't know what it's going to be, but we'll get there somehow."
